FESTIVAL REGULATIONS

II. SUNART•IST FESTIVAL REGULATIONS 

1. GENERAL INFORMATION 

The II. SunArt•IST International Piano Festival will be held on June 4–5, 2026,  in Şile / Istanbul

The festival is an international artistic event aimed at encouraging musical  development, stage experience, and artistic sharing

Participants may apply as solo pianists or piano duos

2. AGE CATEGORIES & TIME LIMITS 

Young Talent – Ages 6–9 

Maximum performance time: 3 minutes 

Junior Pianist – Ages 10–13 

Maximum performance time: 5 minutes 

Young Artist – Ages 14–17 

Maximum performance time: 5 minutes 

The stated durations are maximum time limits

The jury reserves the right to stop performances exceeding the allowed time. Participants must apply to the category corresponding to their age at the time of application. 

3. REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS 

In all categories, participants must perform at least two pieces of contrasting  character

The repertoire may include works from different musical periods or pieces  of distinct musical character

The total performance duration must not exceed the maximum time limit of the  chosen category. 

All works must be performed from memory

To ensure smooth program flow, repeats (reprises) are not allowed

4. DUO PARTICIPATION RULES 

Participation as a piano duo is allowed. 

Duo performances are evaluated within the age-appropriate category of the  participants. 

The maximum performance duration for duos is the same as the relevant age category. Duo performances must also be played from memory.

5. EVALUATION & JURY AUTHORITY 

The festival is not a competition

Participants are evaluated by the jury based on: 

o Artistic expression 

o Technical proficiency 

o Musicality 

o Stage presence 

o Program coherence 

The jury reserves the right to stop a performance or request program adjustments if  deemed necessary. 

Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal

6. SPECIAL INCENTIVE & COMMENDATION AWARDS At the discretion of the jury, the following special awards may be presented: 

Best Baroque Interpretation Award 

Best Classical Period Interpretation Award 

Best Contemporary Music Interpretation Award 

Best Jazz Interpretation Award 

Best Technical Performance Award 

Best Musical Expression Award 

Best Stage Presence Award 

Promising Young Artist Award 

Outstanding Performance Award 

These awards are not mandatory and are granted solely at the jury’s discretion. The jury reserves the right not to award or to grant awards to more than one participant. 

7. CERTIFICATES 

All participants performing at the festival will receive a Certificate of Participation

8. PARTICIPATION FEES & REFUND POLICY 

Solo participation fee: 4,000 TL 

Piano duo participation fee: 6,000 TL (total for two participants) Participation fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. No refunds will be issued to applicants who pay the fee but do not attend the festival.

9. REQUIRED APPLICATION DOCUMENTS 

Copy of ID card or passport 

Passport-size photo or artistic portrait

Important Note: 

Please write “Participant Full Name – Festival” in the payment description. For duo applications, both participants’ names must be included. 

10. TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION 

All travel, accommodation, and meal expenses are the responsibility of the  participants. 

11. PHOTO, VIDEO & PUBLICATION RIGHTS 

Photos and videos recorded during the festival may be used by the organization  for promotion, archive, and social media purposes

By applying to the festival, participants automatically grant permission for such use. 

12. GENERAL PROVISIONS 

The festival program and schedule may be modified if deemed necessary by the  organizers. 

The organizing committee reserves the right to decide on matters not specified in this  regulation. 

All applicants are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted all terms of this  regulation upon application.
